Lisa Hill is an award-winning photographer, family historian, and educator. She takes a camera wherever she goes – thank goodness for iPhones!
Day to day, when she’s not working with clients, she’s searching for new and creative ways to create a vision for her next session. She loves to visit locations around Atlanta in search of fun backdrops and interesting landscapes.
Lisa specializes in High School Senior photography. Her favorite thing about photographing seniors is their creativity, sense of adventure, and their excitement for the future. No two sessions are ever the same. She’s passionate about capturing the story of every person she photographs. It’s the unscripted moments that create the essence of her work.
The pandemic led Lisa to her newest passion: nature and wildlife photography. She spends a great deal of time learning about and practicing macro and wildlife photography and searches for travel adventures to explore new subjects. Most recently, she traveled to Maine to photograph Atlantic Puffins and to Mackinac Island, Michigan, to photograph dahlias and butterflies.
When she’s not behind the camera, she’s an active community volunteer, archives family photos, and loves to read. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Todd, their dog Aine (pronounced “awn-yah”), and her sweet kitty Sadie Ruth. They have two adult daughters who also live in Atlanta.
Lisa is a member of the Board of Directors for Georgia Professional Photographers Association, a member of Professional Photographers of America, and an active member of the American Society of Photographers; for which she’s an Ambassador and State Representative. She holds her Master of Photography Degree through PPA, is a Certified Professional Photographer, and is the 2023 Georgia Photographer of the Year.
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” Elliott Erwitt
