IMAGE GALLERY FROM THE PHOTO WALK

In this annual event, we stroll Canton Street in the morning, capturing our city in its glory. As an added bonus, this year’s Photo Walk coincides with the 75th Annual Frances McGahee Youth Day Parade, which will proceed down Canton street.

We then post-process our pictures over lunch time, offering our best three for the competition. The event wraps up with an awards ceremony at Rock ‘N’ Taco 928 Canton St. at 1pm.

This outing is open to all photographers.

THIS YEAR’S THEME: Get Creative with your Mobile Phone

Position your camera differently, shoot high or low. Find new vantage points; shadows or silhouettes; motion or blur; reflections in windows and water. Perhaps experiment with double exposures or apply filters or other effects with apps on your phone such as a unique color palette or a vintage look. The possibilities are endless. This event is to encourage you to explore new ways of taking photos. But the most important thing is to have fun.

This event is aimed at mobile phone photography. But you may use a regular camera as long as you can forward the images to your phone for processing and uploading.

This is also a great opportunity to capture images for the upcoming “When In Roswell” photo exhibit.
