Interested in a more casual way to photograph some exotic animals in a low key environment? Consider joining RPS for a field trip to Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega. The Preserve is a cross between an exotic animal preserve and a large family oriented petting zoo. They suggest taking a couple of hours to tour the preserve and meet the animals, which include:
• Bengal Tiger
• Zebra
• Horses
• Donkey
• Two-Toe Sloth
• Camels
• Buffalo
• Ostrich
• Turkey
• Bear
• Parrott
• Cockatiels
• and more!
More information about the preserve can be found at Chestatee Wildlife Preserve .
Admission to the preserve is $15.00.
Location: 469 Old Dahlonega Hwy, Dahlonega, GA 30533 (approx. an hour / 47 miles from Roswell)
We will meet at 9:50am at the gate for a group picture. The reserve opens at 10:00am.
If you would like to carpool, lets meet at 08:40am at the Marta parking lot at GA400 exit 8 .
Photography Tips: Consider bringing a telephoto lens. A medium range lens for wider shots may be useful as well. You can bring a monopod, but space may be limited.
