The Gwinnett Balloon show has been rescheduled to August 22-23 due to weather.

Join us on Saturday, Aug 23, 2025  at the Gwinnett Fairgrounds to take pictures of Hot Air Balloons and a Laser Show!

The annual Gwinnett Balloon show features dozens of colorful hot air balloons in different shapes and sizes. The best time to photograph them is late afternoon and during dusk when they will be lit up and ascend to short tethered rides. Gates will open at 5:00pm. Sunset will be around 8:30pm, and the laser show will start around 9pm.

This is a big and busy event and we may not be able to stay together as a group. If you don’t carpool, please arrive at your leisure.

Location: 2405 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30045 (approx. 30 miles from Roswell). You can indicate if you are interested in carpooling on the registration link.

Photography Tips: Consider bringing a midrange zoom lens (24-70 or a 24-120). A wider lens may be useful to capture a close view of an entire ballon. Due to the crowds, tripods will be not useful, but monopods may work.
