Since 1970, the Southeastern Railroad Museum has been a fantastic place to wander around and discover! You’ll find about 90 pieces of train equipment there, including vintage Pullman cars, classic diesel and steam locomotives, freight cars, and even the maintenance cars that keep everything running smoothly.
Picture yourself standing next to the massive driving wheels of the locomotive that once whisked passengers to Key West on the “railroad that went to sea.” Or, maybe you’d like to peek inside the business car that played a key role in bringing the Olympics to Atlanta. Or, perhaps you’d like to pose on the platform of the private car that once belonged to President Warren G. Harding. The collection also includes a WW2 area troop kitchen on wheels.
