In this meeting our own Mike Lerch will share how curiosity, experimentation, and personal challenges have fueled his lifelong passion for photography. He will discuss a variety of creative techniques, including shift focus, slow exposure, shooting through a telescope, and time-lapse photography, while also exploring the power of features often hidden in your camera manual – like auto-capture, pre-capture, and burst mode. Michael’s light-hearted, tech-savvy approach makes photography both accessible and exciting, whether you are just starting out or interested in looking for inspiration.

ABOUT MIKE:
I am a serious photographic amateur and have been interested in photography since I was in the 3rd grade when my father gave me a Kodak Brownie to work on a cub scout merit badge. Later I began developing my own film and making contact prints, and in high school was a yearbook photographer working in the darkroom, dodging, burning and enlarging images. In the early 90’s I bought my first digital camera and editing software and really upped my photography game. I am a “techie” and enjoy learning new techniques such as time lapse, night photography, stacked focus, macro photography, and composite photo’s as well as increasing my skill and knowledge of digital editing. I am a member of the Roswell Photographic Society, the A2D Photography Group and The Booth Photography Guild. My photographic technical and compositional skills have been sharpened and expanded by the many fine professional and amateur photographers in these organizations.
