Speaker:  Robin Rayne

Robin Rayne is an internationally-published magazine photojournalist, specializing in disability rights, social justice, and gender diversity. Robin’s work is syndicated globally by ZUMA Press photo agency. He produces compelling cinematic video documentaries that include both still photos and motion, focusing on people who have been forgotten, misunderstood, rejected and devalued by society.

In his presentation, Robin will explore how photographers can expand their audiences and make their photographs stand out from the crowd.

“Our culture is swamped in images. Instagram gets millions of images uploaded every day, and audiences only see a fraction of them. So, two things are true: We have become a video-focused culture, and everybody has a story. So how does one incorporate love of photography into videos that tell stories?” he asks.

Those attending his discussion will see his compelling 25-minute documentary, “Unmet: North Carolina’s Disability Crisis” with time for conversations to follow.
